Document Requirements
Formatting and filing standards for recordable instruments

- A 4" margin for the filing stamp is required at the bottom of the last page. Otherwise, an additional page fee will be charged.

- A return address needs to be included on the document, and should be appropriately marked with "Return to" or "After recording return to."

- Documents submitted for recording have to be original copies or clerk certified copies.

- All documents must be signed and notarized.

- Provide a legal description of the property.

- The grantee's name and address must be listed on the document.

- An instrument that transfers interest in real property that was executed on or after January 1, 2004 must have the following notice in 12 point bold font or 12 point capital letters on the first page:
